Yesterday I fused and stay-stitched the lining pieces, and started
construction. The zipper went in okay, although the machine couldn't quite
handle the second side (my alignment was a bit off) so I did that one by
hand. The canvas pieces are wicked stiff, so I've left them alone in favor
of doing most of the lining assembly first. The curves went together more
easily this time as I was very careful to mark my seam allowances
precisely. I have one more set of seams to do (the narrow, difficult end,
naturally) and then I can see about the canvas side. I will probably need a
hammer.
P and I went to Costco in the afternoon and re-upped on nuts and paper
products. They also had a set of flattish project boxes that should be
perfect for stashing my sewing queue.
