Yesterday I went to the all hands meeting, a bunch of one on ones, and had therapy, which was mostly about the end of the fellowship transition and looking back on the last year. It’s been a ton of work, but I learned a lot about managing people at all levels, taking risks, delegating effectively, navigating bad actors, recovering from mistakes, what my personal failure modes look and feel like, and modeling and enforcing sustainable workloads. I then had a great chat with S about how the fellowship leveled up his understanding of product management. In between things we worked through the next phase of restoring as-of data, and identified a bunch of logic failures in an intermediate stage. I wrote a thing that will fix it, but there was no way we were going to finish running it before end of day, so we’re pushing to Monday.

Dinner together, crossword, Atlantis, snack, sleep. Dreamt of origami flower spheres, coming back from a trip and finding a friend had pre-emptively dropped off some fresh vegetables for us from the farmers market, ants returning home in single file, pirouettes, an alarming variety of ice cream flavors, a sleepy closeted gay Thai artist working on a competition entry.
