Yesterday I made another batch of nut and seed bars, and finished up the exit documentation prompt for the summer interns. We went to the market and got Bulgarian pastries, peaches, pluots, plums, apricots, blueberries, mushrooms, bread, sourdough scones, callaloo, parsley, basil, zucchini, jalapeños, eggplant, beans, and tomatoes. P put the laundry in, and I made lunch. We did the crossword, and hung the laundry out on the line. I spent the afternoon in the AC sewing and watching Roswell. I finished the casing for the elastic, threaded it through, sewed the ends together, made some eyelets and threaded the cords through, sealed up the casing, and started sewing the elastic down along the full length with tiny backstitches.

Dinner, took in the laundry, then more sewing and Roswell until it was time for bed, sleep. Dreamt of french class and choir and some weird kind of home ec and designing a system whereby all babysitting and childcare would be funded by the state. It’s not a bad idea.

I finished Fire in Frost, which could’ve used an epilogue even though there’s a sequel. I started An Unconventional Mr. Peadlebody by D L Gardner, which is a character story set in a paranormal milieu. The hunting scenes are a bit triggery but otherwise it’s entertaining enough.
