Yesterday we went to the farmers market and got asparagus, bourbon-infused
honey, sourdough wholemeal cinnamon rolls, radishes, cilantro, parsley,
garlic scapes, basil, and some sandwich rolls. I cooked up the blackeye
peas with clove, bay, black pepper, and allspice. I cut out and sewed up a
mock-up out of the weird Hawaiian rayon and it fits beautifully. I used a
temporary zipper at center back so I have to undo that and put in a placket
instead, but otherwise it’s just felling and binding the raw edges and then
I have, like, an excellent new shirt. David Page Coffin. Genius. It’s cut
on the straight grain, but rayon challis doesn’t seem to care.
After lunch we did the crossword. P made pasta for dinner. We split a
cinnamon roll for snack; they are excellent. It’s a new place at the market
this year called Crustworthy (lol). I found a set of urban fantasy books
about djinn on Hoopla, starting with To Catch A Stolen Soul by RLNaquin.
The reader is a bit unfocused and the exposition a bit forced, but the
characters are good and the setting is interesting. After dinner we played
scrabble (565 board score), then I watched Flash, had a snack, and went to
sleep.
