Yesterday P took a recovery day. The back pain kicked in, so he’s moving
carefully, but otherwise healing. I went in early for a teleconference
which went well, added a deletion endpoint to the grammar rule server, and
got all tests passing for the persistence backend. Took a deep breath and
started in on the android code. Did a tutorial first, which helped with
some basic vocabulary and systems organization. Then I set my desktop up to
be a dev server, and eventually figured out the magic google phrase to give
me an example for how to switch the server uri being used by the app based
on whether gradle is using the dev flavor or the prod flavor. And how to
build host/port uris from strings, because that’s different too. Aaaand it
works! Or, it builds, and I can deploy it to the phone, and it uses the
correct server. Actually submitting utterances crashes, but that just gives
me a good starting point for today.
Did a turn through the garden and picked beans and NZ spinach. Put some
more french knots into Gerty’s embroidery project.
