Yesterday I finished taking apart P's shorts, pressed out all the wrinkles
from the elastic, seams, and hems, and traced them onto pattern paper. I
included hem allowances but no seam allowances since most of the edges had
been finished with a serger and were thus too narrow. I also drew out a
larger pocket bag for the inseam since P says the old ones were a little
small.
I picked a satisfactory quantity of beans, particularly the blaus are
starting to bear well. The peppers are ripening, and I got an Odessa and a
couple of bolrogs. The bolrog isn't a great eating pepper (I put some in
last night's soup but the skin is quite tough) so I might dry and grind
them, since that's what they're purportedly used for in Hungary.
The corn is starting to dry; I'm pretty excited to try it parched and
ground.
