Yesterday I rinsed the embroidery, squeezed it damp in a towel, and ironed
it dry and flat. It is gorgeous. I rolled it around a couple of paper towel
tubes with tissue and put it in my luggage. If I have to gate-check it I
need to remember to pull it out and keep it with me.

I washed a load of laundry and dried it on the line. Lots of linen since it
will be in the 80s most days in Seattle. I ironed the skirt I want to wear
to the memorial. Still not sure how to balance special and casual. It’ll be
okay.

I packed my clothes and some of my hair stuff. Assembled an outfit for
flying in.

I rearranged the plants so they can be bottom-watered while we’re away.

I listened to podcasts. Love To Sew had an interview with the guy who wrote
the shirtmaking book P has. It was a good interview, and he’s apparently
got a new book coming out on fitting and draping. I pulled out our old copy
and started reading it. It is good! Ologies had a minisode on air travel
tips, which was lovely. Lots of eps of Dear Hank And John and No Such Thing
As A Fish.

I looked for books from my read list on Hoopla (it’s a library app like
Libby) and found a handful of promising ones. I started reading Space Opera
by Catherynne Valente, which seems to be a milieu story so far in spite of
being nominally centered around the idea of “what if Eurovision, but
galactic”. We’ll see if it sticks.

Food was surprisingly fine for the day before traveling. All this stuff
gets better with practice. And modern medicine.
