A warm clear day for drying things outside
May. 8th, 2019 07:10 amYesterday I located, with P’s bewildered assistance, the little bag of
vintage textile cleaner I bought ages ago when I started working on Gerty’s
embroidery project. It’s a perborate-based detergent designed to reduce
yellowing and spotting from age and improper storage. I mixed up a batch
according to the instructions, and set the tray to soak. Then I tidied the
sewing room. I packed away the flannel remnants and baby rib knits, cleared
the ironing board, and ironed the lightweight flannel shirting for some
sleep shorts for P.
I finished Hunted. It is reasonably well ended, with an epilogue to salve a
touch of abruptness.
At work I started in on the knowledge base display page of the web console,
got the “things” pane working, and broke the “concepts”/categories pane
before I left, so I have a loose thread to pull when I get back from
Seattle. Had a rapid back-and-forth email thread with H about a dataset we
built last year, which turned into a phone call so we could debug live.
Eventually verified that something was fishy with the query neighborhood
graphs vs the source graph file, backed up to figure out what he actually
needed, and came up with a more conservative stopgap.
P was on campus decompressing after his students’ final presentations (they
did good), so we took the shuttle home together. I checked on the
embroidery, not done yet, then did dinner, crossword, Flash, snack, bed.
