Yesterday I played with some different seam and interface treatments (which
I should have done in the first place; learning experience!): single layer
of canvas, double layer of canvas, pellon interfacing extending to 1/8"
before the seamline. I showed them to P, and we like the strength of the
double canvas for most of the bag, and the structure of the pellon for the
bottom panels to help prevent sagging. I've also separated the back face to
a separate pattern piece, so that the extra seamline will provide some
additional structure and definition to the transition there.
Food wise I've started to crave nuts in my rice+stuff meals, which is a
good sign. I tried some mung dal over the weekend in a mujadara with some
success so that's another protein source I can use. Weight is still pretty
obstinate. We'll see.
