Long stripey boys
Jul. 23rd, 2018 06:50 amYesterday we went to the farmers market and got blueberries, apricots,
beans, cabbage, Japanese eggplant, an interesting extra-warty cucumber,
tomatoes, parsley, pea shoots, a jalapeño, shishito peppers, and garlic.
There was no lettuce to be had anywhere, so we bought some at the geagle.
I did three loads of laundry and hung them on the line. In between things I
stripped down my distaff and hand spindles, and made a batch of Hyderabadi
sour dal. After dinner P drive me to Hazelwood for the guild meeting, which
was sparsely attended but still very relaxing. I showed the spindles,
distaff (it’s a stick; very easy), loading the distaff using a cloth cover
and ribbon to keep things tidy, how I anchor the distaff while seated so I
can use it as a third hand, and how spinning works when you keep the
spindle in-hand/grasped. It all went over pretty well even though most of
the people there weren’t spinners.
After guild P drove me home and I had a snack, then we did the crossword.
We almost got it by the time I was ready to pass out, and P finished
debugging it just before I actually did so.
Busy day; good day.
