Yesterday I sewed the placket on the burgundy floral. Despite the practice on the other two shirts it turned out a little wonky, but no one is likely to notice but me. After lunch I put a dishwasher tablet in the burned pot and set it to simmer, checking on it every fifteen minutes while I went out to work in the garden. I picked a handful of beans, cleared some more radish out of the carrot beds, tied up some wandering tomatillo and tomato vines, and grabbed the pumpkin out of the tree and redirected it onto the trellis. It’s starting to make fruiting flowers, and there’s also a couple of fruits on the tromboncino. Exciting times!

The pot was nearly clean after maybe an hour, and I had P bring back a metal scrubbie on his field trip to sqhill which took care of the rest. Excellent performance, will remember that trick. Seriously it looked like the aftermath of a chem lab demo of what happens when you mix table sugar and sulfuric acid, and now it’s totally gone.

Still reading Storm and Fury, which is keeping information from the reader but not annoying about it.

Rinsed off, watched the final episode of Sherlock. Dinner, crossword, then I tried out the pilot of Gentleman Jack, a period drama inspired by the diary of a female landowner in 1830s England. Superb; I’ll be continuing.

Snack; sleep. Long, involved dreams about the better parts of high school, getting too distracted by trigonometry to pay attention in class, student government uprisings, tea made from hops in beautiful ceramic lidded mugs, spinning, cash so filthy it could barely be read, ridiculously expensive promotional T-shirts in adult sizes, ridiculously cheap promotional t-shirts in child sizes that were still big on me, Caity Lotz baking brownies, malls after hours.

G update: his hemoglobin is down, which is worrying. If he’s bleeding internally again somewhere they’ll have to move him back to the hospital again. D is not doing great.
