Yesterday I went (with P) to my first pottery class since high school, and
it was fantastic! This week was basics: tools, wedging, and centering. I
flubbed twice and then got the hang of it, and managed one quite good
cylinder and then one more wobbly one as I was getting fatigued.

In the morning I decided to rip out my basting stitches and try again with
a slightly different method. I got through pressing the new pleats before
it was time to get on with my work schedule.

Work was pretty good, I had a meeting with student, some impromptu
troubleshooting of a weird problem with CUDA which only occurred under
specific tmux configurations, and some amateur counseling for S...
Apparently the sexist racist dude with anger management problems who got
fired last month has suddenly passed away, no details yet but she was
feeling pretty intensely in multiple conflicting directions about it. I
hope she finds a way to process her grief without feeding her tendency to
take responsibility for other people’s bad behavior.
