Yesterday I boxed up a bunch of fabric scraps for a friend and shipped them off. I attempted to re-up my supply of corn chips for the office, but entropy no longer stocks them for some reason. At work I continued investigating subbing theo for freebase, opting for a more direct substitution. Unfortunately it looks like SEMPRE was designed to assume a very static KB, since the lexicon functions hit a local cache of trained surface forms, and not the freebase server. Boo. F stopped by and dropped off a lovely gift from her trip to Iran, some very nice saffron. Quite thoughtful! I went to therapy, which turned out to mostly be about languages. Back on campus I went to a wee sliver of the orientation party, met one new student and a second-year, and was in the department photo. Haven’t done that in a very long while. Loud but probably good for me. Home, dinner, crossword, Elementary, snack, sleep.
