Yesterday I repaired a problem with the tweaks to the aggregations pipeline, and submitted a PR for our primary website to list the new job descriptions; Z tweeted them as well so hopefully that will help. I reviewed G’s PR and found it good. I reorganized our project board for 1.7. I met with Engineering and scheduled a smaller work meeting with the backend folks to see if we could design our way out of the performance issues we’ve been struggling with. I went to the viz meeting and we talked about some new mockups and designs for the map, and getting our test crew started. Met with the backend team and we hammered out a couple different plans for speeding things up, picked a short term approach to do right away and a long term approach to work on afterwards that will also help incorporate forecasting quantiles. Very satisfying. Cleaned up some feedback for E who is working on importing the issue history for one of our cases/deaths sources.

Dinner, trash, crossword, started felling the center back seam on P’s shorts while watching Imposters, which seems to be about long cons (very much my newsletter) centered on seducing and marrying men and then making off with all their money (very much not my newsletter; that shit gets women killed). Conflicted.

Snack, sleep. Dreamt of cats, pocket doors, exploring the house of someone with almost as many lapsed hobbies as me, mystery puzzle hunt, timed candles, missing water heater.
