vague and damp
Jul. 10th, 2020 07:16 amYesterday I made a branch that merged the data versioning changes with the direction optimization changes and rebased them against main to prepare for migration day on Monday. It was surprisingly straightforward; I’d expected conflicts with W’s code but there weren’t any, and the only stuff to actually fix was the changes to the metadata calculations. That done, I threw together a quick report on N’s work with extending the trend calculations from 7 days to 14 days, and their correlations to the COVID-Exit-Strategy site. I went to the team leads meeting, where we discussed the authorized user list for the new claims data partnership, some pressure from F to promote using the symptoms survey data in forecasts, the plan for the 1.6 release of the map, the plan for coordinating with CMU Recruiting for our upcoming hiring, the plan for our collaboration with COVID Act Now, and the plan for our incoming engineering team loan from G. It was a lot; we ran over by a half hour but it was worth it.
Lunch, then I met with Engineering and coordinated code reviews for the three open PRs. I sent over the user list to C, started a scheduling request with R’s admin, and spent the rest of the afternoon attempting to draw up the next set of forms for Recruiting before deciding it would be better to get more feedback on the actual job descriptions and dropping a note to HR to not expect the forms until next week. Finished up with some interpersonal management stuff to which the ideal solution is unfortunately temporarily inaccessible; satisficed for now and told the parties involved we’d follow up in a week or two.
