Yesterday I met with Indicators, went to a meeting with A and R about the strategic plan for the rest of the summer and into the fall, and had lunch with P. I met with AB and gave him a walkthrough of the existing validation code, met with A and N as a sort of interview/interest meeting to bring N on as an engineer for the statistical modeling team, and went to the viz team meeting and discussed the continuing mixed signals from R&R about what the audience for the map should be. Also the user study results and a nice brainstorming session on how to address some issues with a perception of unreliability, but I’m less upset about those. I was supposed to spend the last two hours of the day writing code for issue date support, but my agreeable self put most of that time into fulfilling smaller requests from various other people instead. It’s all important, I just need to keep an eye on what tasks I’m assigning myself with that in mind.

Dinner, abbreviated trash, crossword, DS9, snack, sleep. Dreamt that instead of rescuing furniture from curbs the thing to do was rescue them from the seashore, and my dream self scored several sets of excellent wooden chairs that way. Dream logic retirement finances requiring one to physically drag a CAT5 cable to someone’s office, getting left behind, dorm roommates disappearing, an assigned office in a caged-off section of the building and the very strange key one had to talk an admin into loaning you to get to it, that never-ending feeling you get while packing when you’ve nearly finished a room but then you remember to open a closet, pop-up nail salons, remodeling, dubious decisions involving electrical outlets in water fountains.
