The penultimate carrot

Yesterday dev access to the database wasn’t available until after 1, so I spent the morning looking at the data API and what it would take to switch us over from direct database access. We spun up a Trello 🎉 and I populated it with the stuff from the google doc. Once we got database access I debugged the mysqli conversion, which took longer than expected. D helped test and found some things I’d missed, and I got everything fixed and pushed to trunk just in time for the SCS tech staff committee meeting. I wound up mostly running it while taking notes simultaneously, which is not my favorite but preferable to waiting around for no one else to get things done. I am channeling my sophomore roommate more and more these days. Anyway we decided on a formal statement of purpose, term limits and transitions, a soft leadership structure, and action items to take before the next meeting would be scheduled, and freed everyone five minutes early. I returned to crowdcast to hear that R had changed his mind about not wanting anything in particular from us this week. I told D it was too late for that, and we’d handle R’s new requests next week. Spent the rest of the afternoon and into early evening fixing the previously-identified urgent UX issues, pushed to the test server, and released the candidate site to the lab for testing and bug reports.
Dinner, trash, crossword, DS9, snack, sleep. Dreamt thoroughly, but they’ve already vanished.
