PMJ will be at the festival this weekend?

infryqYesterday was kindof a lot.
In the morning I played with a pattern configuration that split the
back yoke and attached it to the front yoke at the shoulders. It puts the
back yoke on a bias, which might be good or might be weird? The rayon
challis arrived, so I can start some mock-ups.
P had a meeting on campus with D about teaching firstyears in the fall, and
it sounds like he’ll have a good amount of support. He’s taken home a bunch
of reading to start with.
Lunch with P and C, which is always fun.
At work I continued debugging theo, now reaching the fens of cache
invalidation. I met with T, and gave him the short version of what’s been
going on since May 1. I caught the front end of his meeting with F as well;
one of our funders is interested in setting up periodic meetings/progress
reports (which we’ll do) and in LIA as an API (which is ...more
complicated). I met with F and summer intern M, and we picked at sPyrolog
some more, this time looking for a way to implement an integer generator on
a range with less complexity than the general-purpose #< operator. Possibly
pulling inspiration from ProPPR plugins.
I walked home through the park.
We signed the contract with the masonry guys, and I made out the check for
the upfront part of the payment.
It turns out that what we thought was either of us forgetting to lock the
door was in fact the deadbolt not working, so we also have to call a
locksmith soon. We have a vestibule, and the inner door locks, so not as
alarming as that might otherwise be.
[family illness/injury, hospitals] P’s dad had some complications after
what turns out not to be stomach flu, with an esophageal tear and a
small-bowel blockage/tangle and a mass that hasn’t been checked yet but
isn’t behaving like cancer. The tear is fixed but they have to wait until
that’s healed to biopsy the thing, which at his age will be three months.
We expect him to be awake later today to be able to weigh in on what he
wants to do. P is weighing flying vs driving for an extended visit if
needed.
