Dreamt of amazing hair and social gardening

Yesterday I finished the hem on one leg of P’s pj shorts. At work I
finished the bit of the server-status script that parses ps output, and
deployed to all the rtw servers. I fixed the broken klist issue, which
turns out to have been a casualty of the LDAP-Kerberos goose chase I
abandoned weeks ago.

P had his interview at Voci, which seems to have gone well in spite of
being quite short. The next question is whether he’d rather face pointless
obstacles (weird vibes, bad compulsory IT, whatever the tech writing
version is of technical debt, sprints, cubefarms, skittish engineers) in
pursuit of money or (self IT, inadequate departmental support, barely
acceptable pay, skittish faculty) in pursuit of his vocation.

We had tentative plans to meet A for dinner, but she wound up stranded at
the retreat campus 90 minutes away, and her ride didn’t leave until
freaking eight pm...and then missed their exit. She will probably rent a
car next time. P went to meet her for a drink and to get her thoughts on
the CMU/Voci thing, but I was already well asleep by whatever time he got
back.

I started watching the new-ish season on She-Ra and it is great.
