Tahini broccoli with sumac is pretty good
Jul. 17th, 2017 10:52 amYesterday I worked on a bike bag for P. I first prototyped a box bag
pattern I found online by building it out in paper, then disassembling it
so I could see how the box shape was represented on the flat pattern. I
then applied more or less the same geometry to the weird curvy wedge shape
needed to fit P's bike. I added some seams to account for the curves, and
am partway through sewing a muslin to test out the method of assembly. I'm
getting a lot of practice sewing dissimilar curves. For the muslin I've
been trying out a no-pins method, but my seam allowances aren't accurate
enough to make alignment easy and as a consequence I've got some problems
with wobble and drift on the bottom seamline. I might switch to pins for
the real deal.
At the farmers market we got blueberries, peaches, sour cherries, dill, new
potatoes, summer squash, green beans, lettuce, parsley, broccoli, and a
tomato. We saw C on the way in but had to stop at a cash machine, and must
have managed to parallel her through the market just right to miss her
entirely. Next time!
