Vacation updates
Jan. 3rd, 2017 08:06 amYesterday I spun some more, decided pillowcase #1 was dark enough and swapped in pillowcase #2 and a penny, and wound two skeins of yarn into balls.
The first was for socks, and my smallest needles yielded a too-loose fabric. I've ordered the next three sizes down, but socks will have to wait until those arrive. The second was for an Ultimate Hat for P -- I'm knitting the outer layer in some sturdy grey Romney I knit in 2015, and the lining will be black alpaca/wool blend I put in the needle order (hooray for new year's sales!) since the black llama fiber I have isn't dehaired and it turns out I really rather hate dehairing.
I sliced the Turkish delight and coated it in powdered sugar and cornstarch. I risked a tiny piece; it's delicious but a bit soft. I can try cooking it longer next time, if there is a next time. P brought some over to the coffee shop and they liked it too!
I mailed in to take another two days off. I'd like to be on something other than rice before going back in to work. My boss is on sabbatical this semester, which helps.
Doctors office was closed yesterday, so calling today yay!
Other things on the list today include moving my personal blog, because Russia, apparently. A little server work for work, and more naps.
