Proper villains 🦹‍♀️
Jun. 5th, 2020 06:37 amYesterday I met with Indicators and delivered the delayed schedule news, got an update on the status of the private API, and scheduled a meeting in the afternoon to set up autonomous generation of two of the sensors in python. I made lunch, then ate it over the big group strategy meeting, which went long as expected. I was hoping it would help clarify the intended audience for the map tool, but no luck. I helped one of our new data partners figure out sftp, and in return they found a bug in the individual response weights, which I was able to fix immediately. I got praised for my “catlike reflexes” which is both odd and fun. Met with J and B about automation, then spent the rest of the afternoon debugging some validation failures. They turned out to be all red herrings, and I’m not sure how anything that particular filter would catch could be due to a pipeline failure, so I turned that filter off. Helped A with his continuing effort to debug the differences between the old and new F codebases too. Took an actual phone call from A asking to postpone the hackathon by a week, which is perfect for us since we’re now also postponed for a week and this puts the hackathon back in the “chill” weekend of the release cycle.
By then it was seven, so just dinner, crossword, sleep. Dreamt of chemistry sets and typesetting technical documents, fairy lights, clearing out an old shack of useful electronic equipment, sci-fi paperbacks, and blankets, snowball fights, rats in tiny hats.
