Yesterday my period arrived early, and with a vengeance, so we did not go to clay. I finished sewing and felling all the side seams, and started in on cutting bias and binding the necklines. I finished Contact, which ties up nicely. I always did like the book’s version, where five people go and are able to support each order afterwards, better than the movie version with just one.

I had to run out to the garden for lunch veg, snagging an early tromboncino, some beans, and a few young haricots. After lunch the pain meds had kicked in enough that we went to the co-op and the teaching garden. I got more brown rice syrup for bars, date syrup as a possible alternative, and chocolate. P found some interesting new yogurt and also obtained enough kit for doing overnight oats for class days. The ETG is a riot of fruits; it will be an excellent year for kiwi and figs. One of the apple trees gave up the ghost, and it looks like there have been pest problems, probably deer or rabbits, among the brassicas and fennel. We lifted some basil and went off home.

Dinner, crossword, the final episode of the season of Gentleman Jack (OMG so good; I particularly liked how they shot the jrqqvatf to show congruency, and the flash of memory showing that zheqre vf sberire), snack, prep for more bars, sleep.
