Still need to shore up the back pockets
Sep. 17th, 2017 10:31 amYesterday was super productive! P went to the field day event at the
teaching garden and I stayed home and did All The Things. I flipped the
bedding in the blue room, cleared out the remaining detritus from Wooster
that was still in there (whoops), and finished resetting the
pseudo-dim-room I used to make cyanotype papers back into a bathroom. For a
moment it looked like there were going to be Prussian Blue stains in the
tub but washing soda took care of them.
I washed the fabric for P's shorts and developed a better scheme for
hanging large panels to dry on the clothesline, and washed two loads of
sheets and towels including bleaching some of the dish towels that have
seen forgotten bits of vegetation a few too many times.
I made a fresh batch of dal, and toasted more coriander and cumin.
I found an error in my leggings draft, fixed it, and re-inked it. I also
watched the rest of the class videos, on tracing (bc the seam allowances
are nontrivial) and assembly. I'm not sure my machine will cooperate with
the elastic method they recommend; I'll have to play around and see.
I accordion-folded the shorts fabric, re-aligned and ironed the ends where
they'd got mangled in the wash, and cut out all the pattern pieces. I dug
out the pieces from the old shorts and traced off a reinforcement panel to
hopefully keep the crotch from wearing out so fast. Crotch geometry is
always a bit challenging but thankfully I still had the muslin in a useful
state for prototyping.
