Yesterday I added two inches to the front crotch curve for more leg room in
front and carved out most of an inch at the actual front crotch area to
mitigate the cod piece effect. It worked great, so I took apart the muslin
and transferred the changes to the pattern. I've trued the ends of the
twill and packaged it up for washing, but there's so much of it that I'm
concerned about adequate water penetration. I soaked it overnight and we'll
see if that works.
I've been listening to Redwall by Brian Jacques, which is a fun blast from
the past. The flatness of the antagonist, the riddles, and the love
interest are all pretty annoying but juuust balanced out by some of the
other characters. I'm hoping things improve as he gets more practice, since
the first time around I never read past Salamandastron and there are like
ten more books after that now.
