Yesterday I prototyped a velcro strap for the bag, and I think it's going
to work although the hand sewing is difficult. I've made three more straps
with the intention of sewing on one a day. I'll have to bust out some more
canvas to do the last two. In the meantime I've started sketching for a new
skirt. I know I want inverted box pleats with a contrast underlay, but I
don't want extra bulk around the waist and hips so I either need a yoke or
some way to secure the underlays lower down, probably via hand-stitching to
the seam allowances. I also plan to half-fell the seams this time.

Laundry got done, the market got done (blueberries peaches eggplant summer
squash parsley cucumber and a tomato), I cut the soap and it's beautiful, I
cleared out the enormous elecampane stalks and a bunch of leaves to
hopefully let a little more sun and air at the root vegetables.

I've been wading through a major mood/body funk and it crested in the
afternoon. Sort of depressive, sort of frustrative, part exhaustion,
probably part dehydration too. Reading a sewing facebook group helped,
cleaning the cutting/design table in the sewing room helped, gardening
helped, drinking fluids helped, taking the wash in helped. So, a
combination of aspirational and small completible tasks.
