Yesterday I finished cutting all the parts of the canvas layer, including
interfacing and a muslin underlining since the interfacing I have is
double-sided. I fused all the pieces, then stitched in the seam allowance
for insurance. I ironed and trued up the lining fabric, and I have a
cutting layout done, just need to mark, cut, and staystitch and then I can
start sewing seams. Though on second thought, I happen to know the lining
fabric shrinks and goes crinkly in the wash, so I might interface it just
in case. This thing is going to be sturdy as hell, but he plans to keep a
chain lock in it, so it has to be.
P put the AC in the window, which gives us a comfortable space to retreat
to when the heat gets oppressive. We've started to save for a small-oriface
whole-house system but it's going to be awhile before we can afford it.
