Yesterday I finished the alpaca singles and started plying. I did stretches
and had a chill day at work. P took the car in to fix the tire, and had a
day full of walking— from the shop, to Oakland, to campus, back home, back
to the shop to pick up the car (there was apparently a staple stuck in it,
easy to fix). He dropped by the kgb meeting, where no one recognized him
(understandably; it’s been 4+ years), he wasn’t quite ee0r, and
storytelling committee had passed from memory. Then we went to the store to
re up on almond butter, seltzer, bananas, and miscellaneous other stuff.
Easy crossword but the theme was cute.

Yesterday I spun a bit and carded a bit, and did my stretches. They are
starting to look like gentle yoga, so that’s good.

We cleaned the bathrooms in prep for carnival guests, and I flipped the
bedding in the guest room, washed sheets and hung them on the line for the
first outdoor laundry of the season. Hanging things out on the line is
super meditative for me and I like it a lot.

The new rice is not my thing, but P likes it okay.

We’d planned to go to Costco, but there’s a not-so-slow leak in one of the
tires, so that will wait.

Instead of knitting I broke out a supported spindle project for tv time,
which was enough different from knitting that it didn’t wreck my hands.

I’ve been more irritable and anxious than usual. I do expect my period
later this week, so some of it’s probably hormonal. I’ve also been a bit
cavalier about spoons lately. I’m still not great at predicting how long I
need to recover.

Currently researching scroll frames for G’s embroidery project, seltzer
makers, and summer shoes.

Long, involved dream about police stations and art classes and living with
my folks and shower contention and face painting and a weird spot on my
hand that wouldn’t heal.

Yesterday I spun a bit, knit too much, and set some of the new Matta rice
to soak. I’ve wedged five minutes into my morning routine between spinning
and shower time for stretching, and it seems to be sticking so far.
Research (according to PhysicsGirl on YouTube) is that five minutes six
days a week is all you need to improve flexibility and begin changing the
type of collagen in connective tissue, so I’m hoping I can keep this up.

Walked home from work through the park. I am slow, and it’s early spring so
it’s not quite nice yet under the trees, but it was still good.
