Brief bee news for Pittsburgh -- the Planning Commission meeting yesterday apparently had fabulous attendance; hours of testimony backed up with almost a hundred letters. The commission agreed to table the proposed ordinance, which in english means "this is more complicated than we thought; we should collect more information and come back to it". City Planning is going to work with Burgh Bees to develop guidelines (because guidelines are needed) that promote responsible and sustainable urban beekeeping, rather than just setting naive limits.
