Yesterday was hectic. R was uncomfortable letting the outage roll for another week without exploring some more options, so we met with a bunch of folks from computing services to establish (1) the urgency of getting more storage onto both cloud machines, and (2) pick everyone’s brains about how to load 1.5 billion rows faster than 72 hours. We hashed out a plan for what to try in what order and how to parallelize efforts as much as possible. I spent the rest of the day clearing unrelated pull requests, assembling more parts of the eventual issue-specific upload to fill in the skipped deliveries from last week, and delegating mystery indicator failures.
Dinner together, then P had class so I watched SG-1, had snack, then crossword together and sleep. Dreamt of driving a pickup truck backwards at speed, and helping my parents house-hunt.
