Secret passages

Yesterday I spent most of the day trying to figure out how to merge a bunch of pandas data frames by overwriting common keys in chronological order. My first attempt took ages to test and was ultimately too complicated to work, but the next one was successful and much simpler. I had one on ones, the team leads meeting finished up goals grading and planning, and then I also helped A and D exhaustively evaluate all the possible ways we might handle mega counties, missingness, population, and aggregating from county up to state. We used a big google doc to catalog it all, and one of them got assigned “Anonymous Nyan Cat”, which caused a flurry of meme rejoicing.

Dinner solo, SG-1, crossword when P finished class, snack, sleep. Dreamt of a barbecue joint only accessible through lucid dreaming.

Deerskin continues, with a CW for incest assault, neglect, misogyny, telling a desperate truth and not being believed, and a situation I find triggering but have no name for: someone powerful is doing something unhinged, and bystanders have the opportunity to stop it, but instead turn on the victim. “Victim blaming” for me is too focused on after the fact to cover it, but maybe that’s the best we can do. The fairy tale style continues, and is well suited to the task.
