...I think I left the bag out in the rain
Jun. 22nd, 2020 06:48 amYesterday I did the laundry and hung it out on the line, and revised the meta cache update PR to adopt some feedback from A. We went to the market (I was designated market-goer; P checked his PO Box) and got Bulgarian pastries, peaches, sourdough bread, asparagus, strawberries, snap peas, zucchini, broccolini, lettuce, spring mix, radishes, and parsley. I made strawberry sauce and we had lunch. I started generating work-in-progress signals and uploading them to the API server, revised the hackathon dataset, and wrote some documentation. I brought the laundry in and had a snack, then finished passing all the tests for the issue date changes to the database and API server. Dinner, over which I attempted to make peach sauce to go with the strawberries, except I forgot about it and it burned irretrievably. I seem to do this about once a summer, making a randomly-selected sacrifice to the gods of fruit preservation. Crossword, DS9, snack, sleep. Dreamt of war rooms and broken candles.
I started reading Blood Lust by Garrett Robinson, which is so far a patronizing book about patronizing characters, but (1) the world-building is fascinating, (2) it includes ace, bi, lesbian, and gay characters as a matter of course, and (3) it includes women as guards, soldiers, and smiths as similarly normal matters of fact, so I’ll probably stick with it.
