Suspension bridges in the snow
Sep. 2nd, 2019 07:32 amYesterday I wrote up the summer top pattern and construction and put it all away in a packet. We went to the farmers market and got nectarines, apples, red peppers, beans, eggplant, a tomato, some new kinds of mushrooms, a sesame sourdough cookie, a sesame roll, little enriched raisin buns, and pizzelles. Home, lunch, flipped the laundry, and roasted the eggplant and mushrooms (note to self: maitake are difficult to roast; they tend to shed petals). Pulled the new pants from the dryer and started hemming the damask ones. Snack, more laundry, shredded the mushrooms and peeled the eggplant, more hemming, dinner, crossword, Elementary, snack, sleep. I put the rest of last week’s nectarines in the freezer, we’re almost up to a gallon so far. Long, involved dreams about looking-glass Olin where attendance was brutally monitored but vocab quizzes had the answers already on the board, competitive fruit&vegetable gardening was a huge thing, and for some reason I tried to pass off novelty women’s suffrage promotional slips as legal tender.
