Yesterday I went digging in stash again, and found some more lawn, some
batik I’d totally forgotten about, and some cotton poplin. Also an
abandoned pencil case project made from an old favorite festival dress. I
trued the ends of the poplin (the lawn had been torn! Good job, fabricMart)
and sewed up both for washing. I finished most of the assembly on the
pencil case; just lacks a zipper now.

I’ve been reading a neat reworking of Beauty and the Beast, set in Russia
in the time of baronies, harassment by Mongols, and a dozen books counting
as a large number. Hunted, by Meagan Spooner. Beauty is a tomboy who’d
rather be in the woods than attending on the baroness. The enchantment of
the Beast is not yet clear, but involves some kind of pluralism. It’s a
pleasant read so far.

Lunch, then I did a load and a half of laundry, finished the blossoms on
the current motif of Gerty’s embroidery project, then was delighted to find
there was nothing more to do. Next is testing the yarns for color fastness
and giving it a gentle wash.

Dinner, crossword, Flash, snack, sleep.
