Dreams of beachcombing
Jan. 21st, 2019 06:57 amYesterday I assembled the hem band, P helped even out the cut skirt edges,
and I basted on one layer. The wrong layer, now that I think of it. Well,
that’s what basting is for.
I started listening to book two of the Pratchett collaboration, Long War,
and wasn’t feeling it. Started the vorkosian saga instead with Shards of
Honor, which is holding my attention better but I’m not impressed by the
misogyny tropes. The Facebook crew says that improves in later books so I
will probably stick it out. E brought up a good phrasing; I don’t mind
misogynistic settings so much as I mind misogynistic writing— i.e. if you
can’t think of any way to develop a female character except through sex.
Usually willing to wade through someone learning to write though on a good
recommendation.
I made some glazed pepitas and sunflower seeds, and they are delicious.
The snow was pretty. We got a couple three inches maybe?
Dinner, crossword, Lucifer.
