Mental health is pretty fragile too

Yesterday I tried out S’s newest solution to the Android auth problem and
it worked! So that slog is finally over.

I got a substantial chunk of our unit tests to pass, mostly fixing
serialization issues but one extremely dodgy fix for generalization which
will continue to use the old fragile search using object names because we
have no concept of variable scopes. Future work.
