Yesterday we went to the farmers market and got apples, green beans,
eggplant, peppers, chiles, carrots, cilantro, parsley, delicata, and a
wacky tubular pie pumpkin. The cheese folks had a charcoal grill set up and
were making caciocavallo sandwiches (it’s a melting cheese that looks like
a bag, you hang it over the fire and scrape off chunks as it melts, smoky
and amazing) so that was P’s lunch. At geagle I got a sweet potato, ginger,
chips, and peas. Spent the afternoon alternating between deep-cleaning the
tub and making indian food; I did a chana and masoor dal out of the Jaffrey
vegetarian book, and an eggplant and sweet potato stew I found online.
Extremely tasty. P made Thai chicken with rice. Everybody got excellent
food today. After dinner I started watching gbbo season five, with the new
judge and hosts. Fond so far!
