Yesterday I did two loads of laundry and hung it out on the line, cooked a
batch of rice berry, made a new dal recipe (roasted split moongs with
eggplant), and started the final flower in the first motif of Gerty’s
embroidery project. We went to the farmers market and got blueberries,
peaches, a hot wax pepper, eggplant, cucumber, tomato, parsley, carrots,
and a pork chop which P made into pad gra pao with great success.
Started listening to The Family Trade, which is substantially different
than I expected, mostly in good ways. The author does have the bad habit of
having female characters self-describe their own physical features
unnecessarily, and of using nausea as a crutch to indicate intensity, but
so far the skip button has been sufficient to avoid the latter, and the
former doesn’t reach comically far into that particular trope, so I’m
enjoying it on the whole.
