And tattoos. Tattooed lords!
May. 6th, 2018 10:33 amYesterday was busy. I spun some more grey Gotland, did two loads of
laundry, and while hanging them out on the line got smitten with the
weather and decided to do a little gardening even though nothing was on the
planting schedule. I cleaned up the rest of the trellises from last year’s
vines, spread fleece rejects as mulch, and dug out some of the worst grassy
offenders in the paths. I tore down the remaining cold frame detritus in
the ex-flax bed, and did some heavy weeding there — some quite mighty
dandelions and garlic mustard and more grass. I got sufficiently irritated
at navigating through the raspberry brambles that I got out the pruners and
knocked down a huge swath of them to clear the path again. Took a look at
the asparagus bed, and we have shoots! cleared out last year’s stalks from
there, then started pulling out wild grape to give them a bit more sun.
Found some real doozies and cut them off at the root to die in-place and be
pulled out later once the tendril things have gone brittle.
Spent the rest of the day spinning and stitching.
Finished Golden Hand and was disappointed, so I suppose that’s my limit for
Nix. Started in on The Magpie Lord, which turns out to be a *gay romance
novel* and omg this is so great (and not only that, a *magical 19th century
English nobility gay romance novel* so even better). CN for suicide, but
it’s pretty well restricted to the inciting event for the rest of the
story, and not a major theme.
