Yesterday I calculated the grist of my favorite yarn sample for the Tunis X
Icelandic spin at 2300 yards per pound of fiber. With the grease weight
losses from washing, I have about twenty ounces of fiber in the form of
locks, which means an upper bound of 2800 yards of yarn... but I’ve been
flicking the tips of each lock (a flicker is kind of like a dog brush)
which gets out any remaining dirt, but is also removing some of the coarser
fibers and weak tips. So let’s say at least 1400 yards, but probably not
2500.
I dropped off soap and destashed some nail polish with C at work (if you
want nail polish hmu), and had a somewhat jumbled afternoon of irregular
meetings.
After dinner I made more cookies, did the crossword with P, and put in a
few more rows on the lace rib sock.
