Final lambswool tally is 670 yards
Feb. 12th, 2017 12:20 pmYesterday we went to the strip for cinnamon, olive oil, and rice, and also
picked up some white buckwheat groats to try sprouting. Buckwheat is not my
favorite but it turns out to be ridiculously high in protein, and contains
all the essential amino acids although they are typically not bioavailable
due to the high levels of tannins (which contribute to my dislike) and
several other chemicals. Sprouting creates enzymes that greatly reduce the
latter, and the repeated rinsing greatly reduces the former, so that
experiment is now in progress.
I had another dodgy post-lunch experience and spent the rest of the
afternoon knitting and working on the calendula article. This week's focus
is on preparations and calendula is safe to take internally, so I made
myself some tea. If I were Bubbles, it would have placed me in a dry
hayloft in late summer.
