infryq: Kitchen scene at dawn, post-processed to appear as if painted (Default)
Yesterday I finished spinning a sample of low-twist lace weight and plied
it. It's nice, but the low twist meant it puffed up a lot in the ply and
it's now more of a fingering. I started spinning another sample, this time
on a support spindle and from a flicked lock over the fold. I'm able to get
much thinner on a support spindle, but the lock formation is tricky to
draft because of the lanolin left in the wool. It's my first time spinning
from a lick though so it might just take practice.

I joined my sweater to work in the round a split for the sleeves. I should
get P to measure me for how far down I want the ribbing to go.

P got a part-sourdough baguette at La Gourmandine and it is delicious but
probably not sour enough for my purposes. Booting up a sourdough starter is
probably on the list for this weekend.
